Holocaust inspired narrative entitled "Witness." The story is pieced together from various researched accounts. Custom cover design.

Before the war begins, an average family enjoys the traditional Sabbath dinner. Paintings are 6" x 15", watercolor, guaoche, and graphite.

The eldest son is captured as he tries to protect his family's store. This scene represents "Kristallnacht", the night of broken glass.

The family is ripped apart as the son and father look out from the cattle cars.

The sign reads "Work Sets You Free", but the son looks up to see his worst fears come true as the haunted souls spill out of the crematorium.

Worked to the absolute limit, the son must bury many of his fellow men, women, and children to stay alive and defy his Nazi captors.

The entire experience is represented by the tattoo on the son's arm. Now elderly, his story of survival will be re-told to the young boy on this contemporary subway car.

The series won "Best In Show" and Silver Medal Honors for Illustration for CQ Journal's March '08 publication (sub-division of 3x3 Magazine).

Witness won First Prize Award in the Westport Arts Center Gallery Group Show in August 2008.
